Birth and inspiration

My golf course fine art books colection is the result of a wonderful alliance between two golf enthusiasts, both members of the Golf and Country Club de Bossey, and team players. Jérôme Percherancier, passionate about photography and collector's books and Robin Luisier, entrepreneur in printing and art book publishing - http://i-pg.com. Together they produced a magnificent fine art book on the Bossey golf course, built and designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. A collection of fine art books on exceptional golf courses was born.

Photographer and lifestyle athlete, Jérôme created adventure raids, sponsored and mediatized, in Africa, " Lion Surf Tour 1995 ", then in America, Asia and Oceania, " Surforange Tour 2002 ". He has cultivated his photographic approach in the story of these extraordinary adventures, at a time when some corners of the planet were still virtually untouched. More recently, he became passionate about Magnum Photos agency and its iconic photographers. He joined professional workshops of this timeless photographers' cooperative, where he was confronted with street photography and learned the power of visual story telling.

Stakes and tone

Jérôme understands that most golf players who are club members have that common thread of having undertaken a magical journey so many times, year after year. He hears them. Every time they play their golf course, they are tirelessly amazed by its beauty, and its surroundings, near and far. It is part of their memory, part of their life.

In these books Jérôme wants them to find a concentrate of these years spent wandering along their golf course. May it be for them as a gratification. More beautiful than anything they could have imagined. Offer them a new look, made up of details they had perhaps not noticed until then. In other words: make this collection of fine art books the apology of the beauty of these exceptional golf courses.

Reality and naturalism

What type of reality do Jérôme wants to create? Reality is representing subjects the way they are but naturalism is representing subjects the way we see them. How we visualise and perceive it for memories, as oppose to what it really looks like. The image use memory and interpretation instead of absolute realism, they have resonance, they connect emotionally. The photographs convey emotion and feeling in its way. Jérôme wants an experience that look beyond realism.

The moments discovered in these books belong to everyone. We make them our own. We, the most assiduous as well as the most casual players, the best as well as the modest. These golf courses are magical. They have the power to bring us together. Every player is proud to say, "I'm going to play 'My Course'! ».
